It Begins with One Word

In Branding, Business, Entrepreneurs, Growth, Marketing, New Beginning, Strategy, success

As one year ends and another begins many of us have some sort of ritual we enjoy to mark this occasion. Maybe you find yourself cleaning drawers and rearranging your desk. Perhaps you design a new system that will help you move forward.

For me it often begins with a word, up to 3 words, whatever the spirit moves me to generate. And sometimes when I look back it can be profound, silly or ironic.

Take this year. My 2020 theme was Alignment. Ha! Way to get the Universe to laugh right? Actually not really. The world was anything But aligned… however the shut downs and quarantine allowed for a quiet that had not been present for me for a long long time.

In that quiet I discovered that I needed to rest.
Resting was a step in my Alignment journey I hadn’t anticipated.

There was a new level to hearing my inner guidance. Time and space to walk, to breathe, to reconnect to myself.

Hmmm… could it be that my definition of Alignment needed a few adjustments that I hadn’t been aware of? Quite Possibly!

Another benefit was honing my skills around rolling-with-what-is. Now, this is something I’ve been looking at for quite awhile. When life gets crazy how do you respond? Some us get crazy, loud, we lash out. Others can get quiet, retreat and  pull the covers over our head.

For me, I’ve been playing with leaning in to whatever it is… riding the waves like a surfer. Some days I fall off that board, yet for greater and greater periods I can access the flow, soften into the waves, feel the swells in new ways.

The other day as I was observing my intentions for this year a word came through… then 3. So that is what I am using as my guideposts this year. And with them I am also bringing what I intend to be an expanded awareness of their possibilities as accessing their fullness is not quite clear.

My words for this year are Growth (beyond learning into stretching), Deepen… I want to deepen my practices, my curiosity, focus, relationships and my awarenesses (just to name a few!). And Listen. I’m pretty sure I can be an even better listener, which is something that is really enjoyable for me, yet my chatty self can get in the way sometimes too.

Grow
Deepen
Listen

Not what I expected at all, but glad they came through.

The process of how this can apply has already begun. Its showing up in my planning, being reflected in my self awareness and can be utilized in all of my endeavors both professional and personal. In short, these words inform the Strategy that I’ll be creating as we move forward. They’re guideposts for the roadmap of my visioning.

These words got me excited for what lies ahead! Do yours do that too?

As we embark on this new year, in the new time, with this new world emerging… what will pull you and guide you forward? Do tell, I’d love to know!

Blessings and prayers and many many thanks to you, my community for sticking with me and growing together.

And for those who are ready to embark on this year with intention and guidance please reach out as I’ve created some new ways to work with me that may pertain to you. Just a few spots are available, so let’s start the year right together and expand into a new version of Impactful Leaders living our true mission.
